Taxiarchoula Kanati made her debut as Dido (Dido & Aeneas), followed by the roles of Baba (The Medium), Carmen (Carmen), Third Lady (Magic Flute), Alcina (Orlando Paladino), Charlotte (Werther) and Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos).
The 2019-20 season featured Ms Kanati’s debut at her native Greek National Opera in the role of Prince Orlofsky in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus.
The 2018-19 season saw Ms Kanati perform the mezzo part in Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, as well as the Ninth Symphony at the Liederhalle, Stuttgart. In the field of contemporary music, Ms Kanati was invited by the composer Jochen Neurath to give the world premiere of his dramatic song-cycle “Tears”, in a concert with Wagner’s Wesendonck-Lieder at the Richard-Wagner-Association in Bamberg. She also made further concert appearances in Germany, France, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Russia and Greece.
Taxiarchoula Kanati was finalist of the National Competition 2016 in Berlin, awarded the “UNESCO Youth International Song – Orchestra Contest in the category of Classical Song” and as a finalist of the 28th International Competition “Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg 2018” she was awarded a role in the world premiere of a new Faust opera for the Chamber Opera Festival at Rheinsberg.
