Kakhi Solomnishvili is the Principal Conductor of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Chief Conductor of the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and Conductor of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Recent highlights include tours of Japan and South Korea with Slovenian Philharmonic as well premieres of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress and Bizet’s Carmen at Teatro Colon, Argentina.
A recipient of the Tsinandali Award in Music, Kakhi has appeared at the Bergamo and Brescia Piano Festival, Ljubljana Festival, Eliso Virsaladzade Telavi and Tsinandali Festival and with Frédéric Chopin Philharmonic and Israel Sinfonietta Beer-Shava amongst others. Future collaborations include Teatro Colón, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, MAV Symphony Orchestra and Polish Baltic Frederic Chopin Philharmonic Orchestra.
Born in Tbilisi, Kakhi studied at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. He began working as an assistant conductor in Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2009 before becoming its conductor since 2014. in 2016 He began working with the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and became their Chief Conductor in 2026. He has been working with Buenos Aires Philharmonic since 2022 as well as assisting Maestro Charles Dutoit. Since 2023 he began active collaborations with Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and he has been appointed as their Principal Conductor since 2024.
